Darts Farm Bicycle Hire Terms and Conditions

The period of hire commences at the time of collection and is deemed to continue until Darts Farm receives the hire equipment as aforesaid.Payment, Cancellation and Penalty ChargesThe full amount of hire payment is required at the time of booking. We are happy to reschedule the hire date if you provide more than 7 days notice, providing the equipment is available on such a date. This is valid to the end of the season from the original hire date. If you wish to cancel your booking, the following applies: You will receive a full refund if you provide more than 7 days notice.You will receive an 80% refund if you provide between 48 hours and 7 days notice. You will not receive a refund if you provide less than 48 hours notice.The hirer agrees to return all bicycles and/or other hire equipment in an undamaged condition to Darts Farm, within the arranged hire period time. If these terms are not complied with, Darts Farm reserves the right to charge reasonable penalties until such time when the bicycles and/or other hired equipment concerned have been returned to Darts Farm. In the case of the bicycles and/or other hired equipment being left or returned damaged, the hirer is responsible for any costs incurred and sustained in replacing or repairing the items concerned to a condition equivalent to that prior to the hire. In all cases the hirer’s credit/debit card will be charged against the costs or charges mentioned herein.

The following penalty charges apply:

Late fee: Penalty charge of £20 per subsequent half-day hire period up to a maximum of £500.

Unreturned bicycle penalty: Charge of up to £500 per bicycle.

Your Responsibilities There will be a suitable number of adults with the hire party who will take charge of Darts Farm hire equipment and will act in loco parentis capacity for any under 18 year olds. Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Cycle helmets are provided free of charge to those under the age of 16. All those under the age of 16 MUST wear a helmet at all times. Adults over the age of 16 are strongly advised to wear at helmet at all times.The hirer acknowledges and agrees that the bicycle and other hire equipment are in good condition in all respects and undertakes not to misuse the hire equipment and returns it with all accessories in the same condition as when received (ordinary wear and tear excepted) to Darts Farm on the due date and time specified on the hire form as signed by the hirer. All hire equipment is used at your own risk. Accepting the hire agreement is accepting full liability for any accident or injury to either the hirer or any third party. The hirer is at all times personally liable for any accident that they may cause or damage to people or property.The hirer agrees that all members of the hire party are in good health and that their eyesight is up to the standard required for a road driving test. They must not be suffering from any medical conditions or disability which is likely to adversely affect their normal control of the bicycle.The hirer agrees to cycle sensibly, with respect for others and the natural habitat. Cyclists are expected to follow the Highway Code in particular the “Extra Rules for Cyclists”. Anyone cycling in a discourteous manner will have the equipment repossessed with no refund of hire charges. The hirer also agrees not to undertake any maneuvers that are beyond their skill or beyond the design purpose of the equipment.Bicycles MUST be locked to a permanent fixture whenever left unattended. The method of securing should include the front wheel and frame. Theft of all hire equipment will be the responsibility of the hirer.
