We are thrilled to announce that all 9 of our products entered into this years Taste of The West Awards have won Gold, in their first year of entry! From our Farm to our Vineyards to our In-Store team of experts, our Bean to Bar Chocolate, Raw Honey, Small Batch Gelato and English Still & Sparking Wnes are all hand-crafted with such skill, passion and care to produce the best quality artisan products. We are so proud of our amazing team!
All of our truffles are carefully handcrafted here at Darts Farm by our expert chocolatier, Louise using our 6-stage process.
In small batches, she carefully roasts the beans, before cracking the shell to release the cacao nibs. Which are thrown into our granite mixer, the ‘conche’, for up to 55 hours, to break down the nibs into liquid form. Our chocolate is then aged in 5kg bricks for 2-3 weeks.
Using our bean-to-bar single origin chocolate, local cream and the best artisan ingredients from our food hall, Louise handmakes our ganache in small batches, leaving each block to set for 24 hours before hand cutting. Each individual truffle is then hand-dipped in more of our delicious single origin chocolate for an indulgent finishing touch.
To craft our award-winning broken slab, in small batches, she combines our single origin dark chocolate with our house blend of salted caramel chocolate to create a smooth & milky flavour, before topping it with Cornish Sea Salt & sourdough pieces.
We craft our artisan gelato in small batches here on the farm using local, pasture rich, organic milk, cream, & the best artisan & seasonal ingredients to create our unique flavours. Our gelato is slowly churned with less air than more traditional ice cream to produce a smoother texture and deeper flavour, but with less fat and sugar!
Our award winning flavours are...
Raw Honey & Honeycomb - crafted using honey from our hives on the farm & honeycomb
Littlepod Vanilla - crafted using natural Madagascan Vanilla from our friends LittlePod in Exeter
Hazelnut Gianduja - crafted using the finest Italian hazelnuts, roasted here on site & crafted into delicious hazelnut praline & crunchy candied hazelnut pieces
Made here on the farm by our friend & devoted beekeeper, Phillip.
Our pure Devon honey is collected straight from our hives, always ensuring an ample amount is left to support our busy bees who are crucial to sustaining our local biodiversity; pollenating our crops, pastures & hedgerows to help our land around the Clyst Valley flourish.
Our delicately flavoured honey is a sweet reminder of the hard work & passion that goes into preserving our beautiful landscape so please savour every last drop!
Crafted a stones throw away, by our head winemaker Alex using the traditional champagne method, we press the whole bunches of Seyval Blanc & Rondo grapes in small batches and leave them to ferment for several years. This allows the liquids to develop the complex, intense flavours that English wine is famous for.
Our sparkling rosé has delicate red berry & rose petal flavours, balancing the fresh acidity
