The Exeter Chief Boys joined us at the Exeter Food Festival for the exciting launch of their Rib Tickler. Working alongside Sandford Orchards, 7 professional rugby players gained professional skills off the rugby pitch as they learnt the craft of harvesting, pressing and bottling. This project derives from wanting to raise vital funds for charity with profits going to The Exeter Chiefs Foundation and Wooden Spoon.
The Exeter Chiefs Foundation acts as a fundraising body with a commitment to the future prosperity of Greater Exeter, and also as a vehicle for promoting collective civic pride.
Wooden Spoon have a vision of equal opportunities for children and young people through the power of rugby as they want to positively transform the lives of children with a disability or facing disadvantage across the UK and Ireland. The money from the Rib Tickler will help support the 70 projects held by The Wooden Spoon, from community programmes and specialist playgrounds to medical treatment centres and sensory rooms.
About the Rib Tickler itself… its flavour includes rich aromas of honey and baked apple, ripe and buttery on the palate, with a moreish apple skin flavour, balanced with a crisp, natural acidity. Why not pick up a bottle or two the next time you’re at Darts Farm!
We are glad to be supporting the causes close to Exeter Chiefs' hearts!
