Meat Care Guide

  Meat Care Guid

Our Master Butchers cut your meat fresh to order, to preserve its quality during delivery we vacuum seal each item.

We recommend removing your fresh meat from its packaging at least 6 hours before cooking.

If you're keeping your meat in the fridge, the ideal temperature is 0-2 degrees.

If you are receiving your whole poultry bird, turkey breast or joint of meat more than 5 days before you are planning to cook it, we recommend freezing.

If you are receiving any other cuts of meat more than 4 days before you are planning to cook them, we recommend freezing.

TOP TIPS FOR COOKING YOUR CHRISTMAS BIRD TO PERFECTION

Maximum Freezer Storage Times

Any longer & the food will still be safe but the colour, flavour & texture will start to deteriorate.

  • Beef: 3 months
  • Chicken/Turkey: 3 months
  • Duck/Goose: 3 months
  • Ham/Bacon Joints:  2 months
  • Lamb: 2 months
  • Pork: 3 months
  • Bacon/Sausages: 2 months
  • Venison: 3 months

Defrost your meat in the fridge or a cool larder, cover loosely & ensure it is thoroughly defrosted before cooking!
