Smoked Haddock & Celeriac Chowder

1 Onion

2 Cloves of Garlic

1 Celeriac, Cubed

2 Potatoes

Veg Stock

Olive Oil

2 Fillets of Haddock

Milk (enough to cover fillets)



  1. Pan fry the onion and garlic using olive oil.
  2. Add the celeriac, potatoes and veg stock to cover. Bring to boil and let it simmer for 30 - 40 minutes, then blend with a liquidiser.
  3. Poach the smoked haddock fillets in milk (enough to cover) for 6 - 8 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillet.
  4. Add 3/4 of the milk to the chowder.
  5. Flake the haddock into the chowder.
  6. Serve with a hearty chunk of Vicky’s Sourdough
