A hive of activity on the farm

Flying_Bees 600x700At Darts Farm we pride ourselves in providing you with fresh produce from our farm and local producers. That includes our own raw honey from our hives here on the farm!

We have over 70 hives spread over 6 apiaries across our farm, nature trail and vineyard.

Our bees are looked after by Phil, who has been beekeeping here for almost 10 years, and it sure does keep him busy! He expects to be harvesting our honey in 4-6 weeks time, totalling approx 50-100lb per hive!

Raw  Honey  VS  Supermarket  bought

Brushing Honey 600x700

Raw honey, straight from local hives, is nature’s original superfood; rich in nutrients, naturally anti-inflammatory, and easier on digestion.

Unlike processed honey that you may find in supermarkets, it retains natural enzymes, has up to 4x more antioxidants and a deeper, more delicious flavour.

The traces of pollen in local honey make for incredible, varied flavour, and regular consumption can support your body’s tolerance to pollen related allergies!

In comparison to super market honey, at a glance an everlasting shelf life may seem great, but with significantly lower amount of nutrients, the process of pasturising and adding sweetners. The steps taken to reduce costs and make a uniformed, ultra processed product.

Supporting the Pollinators

Bee pollination plays a significant role in maintaining ecosystems and increasing local biodiversity while ensuring global food security. In fact, 1/3 of the world’s food production and 90% of our wild crops depends on bees and pollination!

Currently, bee polulations are facing severe threats. Climate change has created an unpridictable temeraptures which has made bees struggle to adapt and increased the risk of diseases.
